Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, is a romantic thriller which is produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films and stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles.. The story is by Aditya Chopra and the screenplay & dialogues have been written by Kabir Khan.
STORY- Ek Tha Tiger is the story of a Trinity College scientist suspected of selling missile technology secrets to Pakistan. The Indian government sends a secret agent, codenamed Tiger (Salman Khan), to find out about the professor’s activities. Tiger falls in love with the professor’s caretaker Zoya (Katrina Kaif) who is studying at a fictional dance academy located at TCD, and together they embark on a roller-coaster journey filled with surprises that takes them from Dublin to Istanbul then to Kazakhstan and Chile.
DIRECTION- Director Kabir Khan who has given intense action movies like Kabul Express and New York in the past has successfully made a complete package film with Ek Tha Tiger. It has got a good storyline and excellent cinematography. The stunts in this film are a class apart. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were trained for some of the stunts by Conrad Palmisano, a Hollywood action director.
ACTING- Salman Khan no doubt gives a superior performance as a RAW agent in the film. His witty dialogues and action sequences are something that you should not miss out on. A role tailor made for him, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is Salman Khan’s first Yash Raj film.
Katrina Kaif is decent in the film and certainly has come a long way ever since her early movies. It has been said that Katrina is not wearing any makeup in the entirety of this film, so here is your chance to see her all natural. Ranvir Shourey who plays Salman’s friend in the movie has got a plum role and definitely deserves a mention. Girish Karnad as the mentor and boss is impressive in every frame.
Coming to the chemistry, the cutest and hottest couple of Bollywood is back again in this movie after 4 years. This is their first movie together after their speculated breakup in 2009 and we must say their chemistry is as real as it can get.
MUSIC- The music of the film has created waves worldwide especially with songs like Maashallah, Laapata and Banjara topping the charts. Technically the album has eight songs, three of which are remixes of the original. A good effort by Sohail Sen and Sajid-Wajid, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is one album that incorporates world sounds.
VERDICT- On the whole, a full on entertainment film with action, drama, suspense and of course romance, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is worth your money. The USP of the film is the chemistry between Salman & Katrina Kaif.. So do not miss it.. We at Bollywoodbackstage give ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ 3.5 stars on 5
