Jism 2 is an erotic thriller film directed by Pooja Bhatt and is the sequel to the film Jism which had John Abraham and Bipasha Basu in lead roles.
The film marks the debut of Indo-Canadian pornographic actress, businesswoman and model, Sunny Leone in Bollywood. It also stars hot male actors Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh.
STORY – A porn star (Sunny Leone) is hired by a dashing intelligence officer (Arunoday Singh) to become a ‘Honey-trap’ for a dreaded assassin (Randeep Hooda). In doing so, she not only has to confront her bitter-sweet past, but is also forced to make an impossible choice – one that will put her own life in double jeopardy.
DIRECTION- Easily termed as the boldest film in Indian cinema ever, Pooja Bhatt has given sufficient and generous dose of skin show for its audiences.. The film is a male voyeur’s delight more so as compared to its female audiences.. However, Pooja Bhatt often erases the gender lines by presenting both the lead actors, too, in bare-bodied splendor.
PROS AND CONS- No doubts the pros of the movie is its titillating skin show and erotic sex scenes. The scenes are neither vulgar nor overtly exploitative. However, the film lacks the key ingredient and that is a good script or story. Jism 2 does not have a great story line or screenplay and lacks pace and thrills. Many questions in the film remain unanswered.
ACTING- Do we even need to say that.. Sunny Leone essays the character of a porn star with ease as it comes naturally to her.. Her dazzling and incredible body, gestures, body language, and performance in erotic scenes are like a diva. She is scorching hot, confident and charming while acting but we think there is a lot of scope of improvement.
Randeep Hooda is superb and has done an awesome job and is the second best in the film to watch out for.. Arunoday Singh is strictly ok as he often ends up with unintentionally funny expressions on his face in the emotional scenes … Arif Zakaria’s role is good and he plays it with ease.
MUSIC – The music of Jism 2 has been well received by the audience. Vicky Goswami, Arko Parvo Mukherjee and Mithun Sharmav’s music is excellent. Maula and Yeh Jism songs stand out. Overall the whole music album of Jism 2 is fresh and very well composed.
VERDICT- The unique selling point of the film has to be Sunny Leone. Although the script is a big deterrent, the voluptuous and magnanimous dose of skin show and erotica in jism 2 is good for a one time watch. The movie looks good and doesn’t disappoint to those who’ve come to watch Sunny. We at bollywood backstage give Jism 2 two and half stars on 5.
