From garnering overwhelming TRPs to getting prominence on social networking websites, the impact of Aamir Khan’s maiden TV show has been massive.
The show ‘Satyamev jayate’ season 1 came to an end this Sunday. Completing 13 episodes, the grand finale of the show was an amalgamation of many issues.
Aamir spoke about the common vision of our freedom fighters: The dream that was India. The show then highlighted the basic doctrine of the constitution that promises equality for all as people in India are still subjected to discriminations on the basis of caste and religion.
The episode then saluted the courage of The Sarvodaya Trust, which gave shelter to both Hindu and Muslim children after the 2001 devastating earthquake in Gujarat as well as Sunitha Krishnan, a social worker who rehabilitates prostitutes and rape victims. The episode also appreciated the work of Naseema Hurzuk, a wheelchair bound lady who runs Helpers of the Handicapped, an organization that helps disabled.
