Actor Aamir Khan 11th episode of ‘satyamev jayate’ dealt with the problem of senior citizens. The actor-producer talked about the fears attached to old age and the difficult survival of elderly members of the society.
The episode highlighted the state of elders who are often thrown out of their houses by their own kids and are then forced to live in old age homes.
Aamir not only spoke about what is wrong with the country but also spoke about how people’s mindset is changing. The show also brought up cases of abandoned parents, who seek refuge in old age homes in the last days of their lives.
The show then brought to light several stories of helpless parents who have had to face humiliation at the hands of their own children. The show concluded citing example of an organization in Ahemadabad which facilitates live-in relationship for old couples.
